Plug your Basil POS device into a power outlet and power on your device by flicking the switch at the bottom of the screen to the right.
Connect your device to the same router your connected your kitchen printer to, either by WiFi or running an Ethernet cord into the router. If you do not have a kitchen printer you can disregard this step.
On your POS device, navigate to the BasilPOS or BasilTables application and click on it to open it.
(If you are already on a pin screen, you can skip to Step 5.) Generate an authorization code on basilbackoffice.com and use your assigned MerchantID and the newly generated authorization code to sign into the POS.
Sign into your user account with the 4-digit pass-code that was provided to you via email or on your Welcome Paper.
Select settings and choose your payment terminal with the drop down list. Then, click “sync now” a couple of times to sync these changes. Your POS should be set up and ready to go.
Additional
You can choose to add a device name to the POS which will show on kitchen printer receipts.
Searching printers will show IP addresses of printers connected to the same network as the POS. To edit printers visit the Merchant Panel.
“Sync Now” will do a quick refresh to the server which is useful if you are editing a menu and want to see changes immediately. (The app refreshes automatically so if you change a menu item you do not have to sync every change.)
