First, make sure you have all the parts you need for your QD4 Dejavoo card reader.

Next, Connecting to power:

• First, plug the power cable into the power adapter
• Next, plug the power adapter into the card reader’s cable
• You may notice that the card reader has a stray USB cord on it. This cord is used to hard wire the Card Reader, but if you are using WiFi, you can disregard this cord and tuck it away.
• Finally, plug the power cable into a power source, preferably a power strip.

For Dejavoo P1, (newest model) you simply need to charge the device with a USB-C cable and then hold the power button on the left to power it on. Make sure there is a good charge before placing the device anywhere else.
