The Card terminal can work on Wifi or on WLAN connection,

If you are using your wifi and it works fine, the stray cord won’t need to connect to anything

If you want to use a wired connection then you can attach the WLAN adapter (Image 2) to the stray cord and connect your ethernet cable.
